Key Facts
Meet the Mighty Min Kingdom!
Once upon a time, long, long ago, there was a special kingdom in China called Min. It was one of ten kingdoms that popped up when the big empire was taking a break. Min was tucked away in a super hilly, mountainous area, like a secret hideout!
Its capital city, where the king and queen lived, was called Fuzhou. This kingdom was around for about 36 years, from 909 to 945. That's not too long, but it was an exciting time!
Who Was the King of Min?
The very first ruler, or king, of Min was a brave and important man named Wang Shenzhi. He was like the founder of a new club! He was so important that people called him Emperor Taizu. He was the one who started the Min kingdom and made sure it had a capital city and its own rules. He helped make Min a place that was almost like its own country, even though it was part of a bigger land.
Why Min Was So Cool!
Min was special because it was in a very hard-to-reach place. The mountains made it like a natural fortress, protecting it. This meant Min could be a bit independent and make its own decisions for a while. It was like having your own treehouse where you make the rules! Even though it was part of China, it had its own special flavor and way of doing things for those years.
Min's Mountain Home
The Min kingdom was located in a part of China that is super mountainous today, called Fujian province. Imagine lots and lots of hills and tall peaks! This made it a bit tricky for outsiders to get in or out, which helped Min stay safe and have its own identity. The capital city, Fuzhou, was right in the middle of this amazing landscape. It was a kingdom built among the clouds!
