Miguel Uribe Turbay

Imagine a person who wanted to help his country become even better! Miguel Uribe Turbay was a Colombian politician, which means he was like a helper for the people of Colombia. He was born a long, long time ago, in 1986. He was part of a special group called the Democratic Centre party. He was also the grandson of a former president, which is like being related to a king or queen of a country!

Miguel Uribe Turbay had a super important job. He was a Senator, which is like being a super-smart advisor in the government. He worked in the Senate from 2022 until 2025. He was even thinking about becoming the President of Colombia one day! He wanted to lead the country and make big decisions to help everyone.

Sadly, something very unfortunate happened to Miguel Uribe Turbay. In June 2025, while he was at a big gathering of people called a rally in Bogotá, he was hurt. He was shot and passed away a couple of months later. It was a very sad event for Colombia, and many people were very upset.

Even though Miguel Uribe Turbay is no longer with us, people remember him for his work and his dedication to Colombia. He was a part of his country's story, and his life shows us how important it is to care about our communities and try to make them better places. His legacy is about service and leadership.
