Mayotte

Mayotte is a group of islands floating in the big Indian Ocean, way off the coast of Africa. It's like a tiny speck of France in a warm, sunny place! It has one big island called Grande-Terre and a smaller one called Petite-Terre, plus lots of little islands around them.

The weather is warm and sunny, perfect for swimming and playing on the beach. It's a beautiful place with blue water and green trees!

Later, a king from Madagascar took over, and then France bought the islands a super long time ago, in 1841! Mayotte decided to stay with France even when other islands nearby became their own countries.

Lots of people live on Mayotte, and they speak different languages! The official language is French, but many people also speak Shimaore, which is the most common language. There's also a language called Kibushi. Most people on Mayotte are Muslim. It's a place with a mix of people and traditions, making it a vibrant and interesting island home.

People on Mayotte work in different ways to take care of their islands. Some people farm, and others work in jobs that help the island run.
