Imagine a time with kings and queens, fancy dresses, and big castles! Mary Boleyn was a lady who lived way back then. She was the sister of Queen Anne Boleyn, who was married to King Henry VIII. This meant Mary's family was super important and got to be close to the king and queen. Mary was known for being a friend to the king, and maybe even more than a friend!
A Royal Friend and a Secret
Mary was a friend to King Henry VIII for a while. Some people even think she might have had two babies that were the king's! But the king never said they were his. Mary also met another king, King Francis I of France, and he might have been her friend too! It was a time of lots of important people and exciting adventures.
Two Marriages, One Big Surprise!
Mary got married twice. Her first husband was named William Carey. But then, she did something surprising! She secretly married a soldier named William Stafford. He wasn't as rich or famous as the people she usually knew. This made the King and her sister, the Queen, very unhappy. They were so upset that Mary had to leave the royal castle and live somewhere else.

After leaving the royal court, Mary lived a quieter life with her second husband. She didn't get to be around the king and queen anymore.
