Crassus was both a general and a politician, which means he was important in fighting battles and making rules. He was born around 115 BC and died in 53 BC. He was a big deal in Rome's history, helping it change from a republic to an empire.

Crassus started his career as a soldier. Later, he became super wealthy by buying and selling buildings, especially after fires! He made a lot of money fixing up houses that burned down.
