Mamiko Tanaka

Imagine a super-fast player on a basketball court, dribbling the ball and scoring amazing points! That's Mamiko Tanaka. She was a professional basketball player from Japan. She played for a team called the Fujitsu Red Wave for four whole years. That's like going to school for four years, but on a basketball court!

Mamiko was born on December 11, 1996. She started playing basketball when she was young and got really, really good. She played for her team, the Fujitsu Red Wave, from 2019 until 2023. She also got to wear the special jersey for Japan and play against other countries when she was younger, like in youth and college games. That's like being chosen for the best team in your whole town!

One of the coolest things Mamiko did was represent her country, Japan, in basketball! She played for Japan when she was a youth player and also when she was in college. This means she was one of the best young players in all of Japan. Imagine being so good at soccer that you get to play for your country's team! That's a huge honor.

After playing professionally for four years, Mamiko decided to stop playing basketball. But her time on the court was super important!
