Lucy Beall Lott

Imagine having skin so delicate, it's like butterfly wings! That's what it's like for Lucy Beall Lott. She has a special condition called epidermolysis bullosa, or EB. This means her skin can get sore and blistery very easily, like a bad sunburn. But even though it's tough, Lucy is incredibly brave and smart. She loves learning and has achieved so many amazing things!

Lucy was born in a place called Texas, in the United States. Doctors thought she might not live very long, but Lucy proved them wrong! She grew up and decided she wanted to learn all about old art. She moved all the way to Britain to go to university. She's studied so much, she's like a walking encyclopedia of medieval art history!

Even though EB is a challenge, Lucy uses her voice to help others. When she was 17, she started telling people about EB to make them understand. Now, she's a special helper for groups that support people with EB. She's also become a model, showing everyone that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. She's even been in famous magazines like Vogue!

Lucy Beall Lott shows us that no matter what challenges you face, you can still follow your dreams. She didn't let her condition stop her from learning, from helping others, or from shining brightly. She teaches us to be kind, to be brave, and to never give up on what makes us happy. She's a true superhero in real life!
