Älmhult Municipality

It's a land of trees, streams, and water. The weather is nice, with warm summers for playing outside and snowy winters for building snowmen.

Älmhult wasn't always a town. A long, long time ago, it was part of a bigger area. Then, in 1901, it became its own special market town! Later, it joined up with the nearby villages to become the Älmhult Municipality we know today. It’s like when you and your friends decide to form a super team! This town has a long story, with people living there for many years.

Did you know a super-smart plant scientist named Carl von Linné grew up here? He loved plants so much he studied them all his life! His old home is now a museum you can visit. Also, the person who started IKEA, Ingvar Kamprad, grew up in Älmhult. The very first IKEA store opened right here! So, this town is famous for both amazing nature and cool furniture.
