Lillian Disney

Lillian Disney was a super talented artist who worked at Walt Disney's animation studio a long, long time ago. She was like a detective for drawings, making sure all the lines were perfect. She was born in a place called Idaho, far away from where the Disney parks are now. Imagine drawing tiny little pictures all day long, making them look alive! That's what Lillian did.

Lillian moved to California to go to college and then got a job as a secretary for Walt Disney. Guess what? She met Walt there, and they fell in love and got married! One day, Walt told Lillian about a new mouse character he was making. He wanted to call him Mortimer Mouse, but Lillian thought Mickey Mouse sounded much better. And that's how Mickey Mouse got his famous name!

Lillian lived a very, very long life, almost 99 years! That's longer than most grown-ups you know. She saw so many amazing things happen, like cars changing and movies becoming colorful. She was married to Walt Disney for many years, and after he passed away, she lived a long time and even remarried. She was a special person who was part of making so many happy stories.

Lillian wasn't just Walt's wife; she was a skilled artist and a smart thinker. She helped Walt with his ideas, like suggesting the name Mickey Mouse. She worked hard at the studio, drawing and making sure the cartoons looked just right. Her job was important because without artists like her, we wouldn't have the cartoons we love to watch today!
