Wales Joins England!

Wales is a country that sits next to England, like a big, green island attached to the mainland. It has lots of hills and mountains, perfect for climbing! The weather can be a bit rainy sometimes, but it makes everything super green. Think of it as a beautiful, hilly garden right next to England.

A long, long time ago, a king named Henry VIII made a big decision. He made laws that said Wales would become part of England. Before this, Wales had its own ways of doing things, but the king wanted everything to be the same. It was like when your teacher says everyone in the class needs to follow the same rules.

After the king made his laws, Wales started using English laws and even the English language for important things. This was a big change because many people in Wales spoke Welsh! It was like suddenly everyone had to learn a new language for school. This helped make England and Wales one big team.

These new laws, called the Acts of Union, were super important because they joined Wales and England together officially. It meant that Wales was no longer separate in the eyes of the law. This is how the country we now call England and Wales was formed, all thanks to those old laws!
