Khasi People

Imagine a group of people living in a beautiful part of India called Meghalaya. These are the Khasi people! They are one of the biggest groups of people in this area. They speak their own special language and have lived there for a very, very long time. They are like a big family, and their homes are in a place with lots of hills and rain. The Khasi people mostly live in a state in India called Meghalaya. This place is famous for getting a LOT of rain, more than almost anywhere else on Earth! Their homes are often in the hills, surrounded by lush green forests. Some Khasi people also live in nearby areas of India and even in a country called Bangladesh, which is right next door. They are a big part of the community in these places.
