Kashim Shettima

Kashim Shettima is a super important person in Nigeria! He is the Vice President, which means he helps the President lead the country. Think of it like a captain and a co-captain on a big ship, working together to make sure everything runs smoothly.

He was born a long, long time ago, in 1966, in a city called Maiduguri. He has worked in banks and even led a whole state before becoming Vice President!

Before becoming a leader, Kashim Shettima went to college to learn lots of things. After school, he worked in banks, helping people with their money. He was so good at it that he became a manager!

Then, he decided to help his state, Borno, by working for the governor. He learned so much that people voted him to be the governor himself for eight whole years! That's like being the principal of a giant school for a very long time.

When Kashim Shettima was the governor of Borno State, there was a very serious problem called the Boko Haram insurgency. It was a difficult time, and he had to make important decisions to help keep people safe. Even though it was tough, he kept working hard. This shows that leaders sometimes have to face scary things and still do their best to help everyone.

After being governor, Kashim Shettima became a senator, which is like being a wise advisor in a big meeting for the country. But then, he was asked to be the running mate for the person who wanted to be President. This means he agreed to be the Vice President if they won! He stepped down from being a senator to take on this even bigger role, showing he's ready to help Nigeria in a major way.
