John MacArthur: A Storyteller of Faith

John MacArthur was a very special teacher who loved to share stories from the Bible. He was born a long, long time ago, in 1939, in a big city called Los Angeles. He became a pastor, which is like a leader in a church, and he was super good at explaining things so everyone could understand. He even had a radio show and a TV show called 'Grace to You' to share his stories with even more people!

For many, many years, John MacArthur was the main pastor at a church called Grace Community Church. It was in a place called Sun Valley, California. He started there when he was quite young, in 1969, and he stayed there until he was a very old man, in 2025!

That's like staying at the same school for your whole life and then some! He also helped run two special schools where people learn to be teachers and pastors.

John MacArthur wrote over 150 books! Wow! One of his most famous books is called 'The MacArthur Study Bible'. It sold more than a million copies! That's more than all the kids in a giant city! This special Bible has lots of notes to help you understand the stories better. He also helped make a new version of the Bible called the Legacy Standard Bible.

John MacArthur was known for teaching in a way called 'expository preaching'. This means he would go through a whole book of the Bible, explaining every part. People thought he was one of the most important Bible teachers of his time. He taught for so long that he even went through the entire New Testament with his sermons, which took 42 years! That's longer than you've been alive!
