Jesus College, Oxford

Jesus College is like a special club for learning in a very old city called Oxford, in England. It's right in the middle of everything, surrounded by busy streets. Think of it as a big, historic building where students go to study and become super smart. It's been around for a very, very long time, and it's part of a famous university!

Guess who started this college? A queen! Queen Elizabeth I of England decided to create Jesus College way back in 1571. That's almost 500 years ago! A kind man named Hugh Price also helped a lot to make it happen. The oldest parts of the college are like ancient treasures, built with stone that's seen so many years go by.

Over the years, Jesus College got bigger. They added new parts, like extra courtyards where students can walk around and relax. Imagine adding more rooms to your house, but for a whole school! They even built new places for students to live to celebrate its 400th birthday. Now, there's even a brand new courtyard finished in 2021!

Lots of really clever people have studied at Jesus College. Some of them even became Prime Ministers of countries like the United Kingdom and Australia! Others were brave soldiers, famous writers, or brilliant scientists who discovered amazing things. It's a place where future leaders and thinkers get their start.
