A Girl Who Loved Animals!

When Jane was a little girl, she dreamed of going to Africa and living with wild animals. She loved reading stories about animals and imagining adventures. Even as a child, she was super curious about how animals lived and what they did all day. She didn't just want to read about animals, she wanted to learn about them up close!

Talking with Chimps!

Jane traveled all the way to Africa to study chimpanzees. She was very patient and quiet, and the chimps started to trust her. She watched them eat, play, and even use tools, just like people! She discovered that chimps have feelings, families, and friends, and they can even teach each other things. This was a HUGE discovery!

Chimps Are More Like Us Than We Thought!

Jane's discoveries showed everyone that chimps are very special. They can be happy, sad, and even get into arguments! She saw them hug, comfort each other, and play games. It was like she found a whole new way to understand our animal cousins. She proved that humans aren't the only ones with big feelings and smart brains.

Jane's Big Mission!

Because Jane loved animals so much, she started a special organization to help protect them. She also created a program for kids called Roots & Shoots to teach them how to help the planet. Jane still travels the world, sharing her stories and encouraging everyone to care for animals and nature.
