Islamic Consultative Assembly

This special building, called the Islamic Consultative Assembly, is in a country called Iran. Iran is like a giant puzzle piece on a map, located in a part of the world called the Middle East. It has big mountains and sunny deserts. The capital city, where this building is located, is called Tehran. It's a busy place with lots of people and cars!

Inside this building, there are many people who are chosen to represent others. Think of it like a classroom where students pick a few friends to talk to the teacher for everyone. There are 290 representatives who work in this assembly! That’s a lot of people! Imagine filling up a whole school bus with people, and then needing more than four school buses to fit them all. They all gather in a big room to discuss important ideas and make decisions for their country.

This special place has a long name: the Islamic Consultative Assembly. People also call it the Iranian Parliament or the Iranian Majles. 'Majles' is a word that means 'assembly' or 'gathering place.' It’s where people gather to talk and decide things for the whole country of Iran.
