Indianapolis 500

This amazing race started a super long time ago, in 1911! That's even before your grandparents were born! The very first winner was a driver named Ray Harroun. The race has been around for so long that it's celebrated its 100th birthday! Sometimes, the race had to take a little break, like when there were big wars happening. But every year, the drivers and fans get excited for this special race.

Some drivers are like superheroes of racing! Four drivers have won the Indy 500 an incredible four times each. Can you imagine winning something so many times? That's like winning your favorite game on the playground four times in a row! The drivers wear special suits and helmets to stay safe when they're going so fast.
