Meet the Sun Kings!

Long, long ago, in the tall mountains of South America, lived a super-powerful group called the Inca. They were like the kings and queens of a giant land! Their empire was so big, it stretched for thousands of miles, longer than going from New York to California and back!

They built amazing cities high up in the clouds, like Machu Picchu, which is still a mystery today. The Inca were super smart builders and organizers.

How Did They Build So High?

The Inca were amazing builders! They didn't have trucks or cranes like we do. Instead, they used strong ropes and lots of people to move giant stones.

They stacked these stones so perfectly, you can't even fit a tiny ant between them! They built roads that went over mountains and across valleys, like super-highways for their messengers. These roads helped them connect their huge empire and share important news quickly.

Super Speedy Messengers!

How did the Inca share messages across their giant empire? They had special runners called 'chasquis'! These speedy athletes would race along the Inca roads, carrying messages and small gifts.

They ran in teams, passing things from one runner to the next, like a relay race. This way, news could travel super fast, even faster than a horse! It was like having the world's first super-fast delivery service.

What Did They Leave Behind?

Even though the Inca Empire isn't around anymore, we can still see their incredible work! They left behind amazing stone cities, like Machu Picchu, perched high on a mountain. They also left behind beautiful gold and silver crafts. Learning about the Inca helps us understand how people lived long ago and how smart and creative they were, even without all the technology we have today.
