Meet the Home Helpers!

The Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council, or HUDCC for short, was like a big boss for many groups that helped people find homes and build cities in the Philippines. It was like the captain of a team, making sure everyone worked together to make sure people had safe and nice places to live. This team helped plan and build houses and towns, making sure they were good for everyone.

It was a very important job to help families and communities grow!

A New Team Was Born!

A long time ago, in 1986, a leader named President Corazon Aquino created HUDCC. It was like starting a brand new club to help with houses and cities. For many years, this team did its best work.

But then, in 2019, the rules changed! A new, even bigger team called DHSUD was created. It was like merging two big clubs into one super-duper club.

HUDCC then became part of this new team, and its old job was done.

Why Were They So Important?

HUDCC was super important because everyone needs a place to call home! This team helped make sure that families, even those who didn't have much, could get a safe house. They also helped plan how cities should grow so they wouldn't get too crowded and would have parks and schools.

It’s like making sure your toy box is organized so you can find all your favorite toys easily. They helped make sure the Philippines had good places for people to live and grow.

What Happened to the Team?

The HUDCC team was very busy for many years, but things change! In 2019, a new law was made, and a new, bigger organization called DHSUD was created. This new team took over the jobs that HUDCC used to do, and even more!

It was like upgrading from a small playground to a giant amusement park with more rides and fun. So, HUDCC stopped being its own team, but its important work continued with the new DHSUD.
