Honoré de Balzac

Honoré de Balzac was a French writer who lived a long, long time ago, from 1799 to 1850. He was like a super-detective for people's lives! He loved to write stories about all sorts of people in France, from rich folks to poor folks.

His most famous collection of stories is called 'La Comédie humaine,' which means 'The Human Comedy.' It's like a giant photo album of France after a big leader named Napoleon was in charge.

When Balzac was a kid, he was a super reader but didn't always like school. He tried many jobs, like being a lawyer, a printer, and even a businessman, but he wasn't very good at them! He wanted to be rich and famous, but his real talent was writing.

He wrote so many stories that he sometimes got very tired. He even tried to start his own printing business, but it didn't work out, which was a bit like trying to build a tower of blocks that keeps falling down.
