Hep Stars

Imagine a band that was so popular, it was like the biggest pop stars in Sweden for a while! That was the Hep Stars. They formed way back in 1963 in a city called Stockholm. They played rock and pop music that made people want to jump up and sing along. They were famous for singing in English, which helped lots of people understand their catchy songs.

The Hep Stars had some really talented musicians. There was Christer Pettersson on drums, Lennart Hegland on bass guitar, and Hans Östlund on keyboards. Then came Jan Frisk, who played guitar and sang.

But the most famous member was Benny Andersson, who played keyboards and guitar. He later became super famous with another band called ABBA! Svenne Hedlund was the lead singer, with a voice that made everyone cheer.
