Meet the Book of Superstars!

Imagine a book filled with the most amazing things people and nature can do! That's Guinness World Records. It's like a giant collection of trophies for the whole world. From the fastest runner to the tallest building, it's all inside. This book started a long, long time ago because people loved to talk about who was the best at what.

Where Did This Awesome Idea Come From?

A man named Sir Hugh Beaver had a big idea in 1955. He was at a party and people were arguing about who was the fastest bird. He thought, 'Wouldn't it be cool to have a book that has all the answers?' So, he and two brothers, Norris and Ross McWhirter, created the very first Guinness Book of Records. It became a bestseller super fast!

Why Is This Book So Cool?

Guinness World Records shows us what's possible! It celebrates people who train super hard to be the best, and it also shows us amazing things from nature, like the biggest animals or the highest mountains. It makes us wonder, 'What amazing thing can I do?' It's fun to learn about these records and maybe even try to break one yourself someday!

How Do They Know It's a Real Record?

It's not just anyone who can say they have a world record! Guinness World Records has special people called adjudicators. They are like official judges who watch very carefully to make sure everything is done fairly and correctly. They check all the rules and make sure the record is real before it gets put in the book. It's a lot of work to be a record breaker!
