Glacier Mice: Rolling Wonders!

Glacier mice hang out on big, icy rivers called glaciers. These glaciers are usually found in cold, snowy places like mountains. Think of them as giant slides made of ice! The air is super chilly, and there's lots of snow and ice all year round. It's a very different home from your backyard!

Even though they're called 'mice,' they aren't furry animals! Glacier mice are actually round balls of ice and snow. They form when snow sticks to tiny bits of dirt or rock on the glacier. More snow and ice freeze onto them, making them grow bigger and rounder, like a snowball rolling down a hill!

These icy balls can move! When the sun shines, the ice on the bottom of a glacier mouse can melt just a little. This makes it slippery, and the wind can push the glacier mouse along the ice. It's like they're playing a slow-motion game of tag on the glacier!

Glacier mice are special because they show us how amazing nature can be. They look like little creatures, but they are made of ice and snow! Scientists study them to learn more about how glaciers change. They are a fun reminder that even on cold, icy places, interesting things can happen.
