Geraldine Chaplin is an actress, which means she plays different characters in movies and TV shows. She was born a long, long time ago, on July 31, 1944. Imagine a time before many of your parents were even born!

Geraldine comes from a very famous acting family. Her dad was the legendary Charlie Chaplin, who was a super funny silent movie star! Geraldine is his oldest child. She's also the granddaughter of Eugene O'Neill, who was a famous writer. So, acting and storytelling are definitely in her blood. She started out as a dancer and a model before becoming the amazing actress we know today.

One of Geraldine's first big movie roles was playing a character named Tonya in a movie called Doctor Zhivago. This movie was so popular that it was nominated for a special award called a Golden Globe! She also played Queen Nefertiti, a very important queen from ancient Egypt, in a movie. She's been in so many movies that she's been nominated for awards many times, like Golden Globes and BAFTAs.

She was also in a spooky movie called The Orphanage that many people liked. She even played her own grandmother in a movie about her dad! Recently, she was in the TV show The Crown, playing a Duchess. She's a true international star!
