Free Democratic Party (Germany)

The Free Democratic Party, or FDP for short, is a group that helps make decisions in Germany. Germany is a country in Europe, like a big puzzle piece on the map. It has tall mountains, green forests, and even some sandy beaches by the sea! The FDP is one of the teams that helps decide how Germany runs, like choosing what games to play at recess.

This party started a long, long time ago, even before your parents were born! It was created in 1948 by people who used to be in other groups that believed in freedom. They wanted to make sure everyone had a say. For many years, they were like the 'swing voters' in a game, meaning they could help decide which team got to be in charge!

The FDP believes a lot in freedom for people to make their own choices. They think it's important for people to be able to start their own businesses and for things to be fair. Sometimes they work with other big teams, like the Social Democrats or the Christian Democrats, to help run the country.
