Frederick William I of Prussia

Imagine a king who was super tall himself and loved to collect other really, really tall men! That was Frederick William I of Prussia. He was born a prince but became a king who was known for being a bit grumpy but also very smart.

He wasn't interested in fancy parties or wars, but he loved making his country strong and organized. He was like a super-organized dad for Prussia, making sure everything was in its right place!

Frederick William I was born a long, long time ago, in 1688. He grew up in a royal family and was supposed to become king. When he finally became king in 1713, he decided he wanted to do things differently.

Instead of spending money on art and music, he saved it to build a strong army. He was very serious about his job and wanted Prussia to be a place where everyone followed the rules and worked hard.

Even though he wasn't a king who fought lots of battles, Frederick William I made Prussia a much stronger country. He made the government work better, like a well-oiled machine. He also made sure his army was one of the best in Europe. This made Prussia a country that other countries respected and sometimes even feared. He laid the groundwork for Prussia to become even more important later on.

Frederick William I's biggest passion was his army. He loved soldiers, especially the really tall ones! He had special recruiters who would travel the world looking for giants to join his Potsdam Giants regiment.

Some of these soldiers were as tall as a giraffe! He spent a lot of money on his army, making sure they were well-trained and well-equipped. This strong army helped make Prussia a major power in Europe.
