Frances Willard

Frances Willard was an amazing educator and a super-strong leader. She believed everyone deserved to be treated fairly. Imagine a world where grown-ups made rules to keep kids safe and healthy. Frances led a big group called the Woman's Christian Temperance Union, or WCTU for short. Their motto was 'Do Everything!' It was like a giant team working together to make the world a kinder place.

One of Frances's biggest wins was helping to raise the age when someone was considered old enough to make important decisions. This helped protect young people. She also worked to make sure people had fair working hours, like getting a whole eight hours to play and rest after working. It shows how much she cared about making life better for families.

Even though Frances Willard is not with us anymore, her ideas still make a difference today. The rules she helped create, like making sure women could vote, are still important. She showed everyone that one person, with a big heart and a strong voice, can truly change the world for the better. She inspires us to be brave and speak up for what's right.
