Eutheria: The True Mammals!

Imagine a super-duper family of mammals called Eutheria! These are the 'true beasts' that have a special way of growing their babies inside their tummies. Think of your pet dog or cat – they are Eutherians!

Unlike some other mammals, Eutherians have a special tummy that can grow really big when a baby is on the way. This amazing group includes almost all the mammals you know and love, from tiny mice to giant whales!

These super mammals have been around for a VERY long time! The earliest Eutherians showed up about 120 million years ago, way back when dinosaurs were still stomping around! Scientists found clues about them in old rocks in China.

It’s like finding ancient treasure that tells us about the very first Eutherians. They were probably small, scurrying creatures, but they were the start of a huge and exciting mammal family tree.

Eutherians have some cool tricks! They don't have little bones in their hips like some other mammals, which helps their bellies stretch for growing babies.
