Where is Enschede?
Enschede is a city in the Netherlands, a country in Europe. It's in the eastern part, right near the border of Germany. Think of it like being in the backyard of another country! The land around Enschede is mostly flat, which is common in the Netherlands. It doesn't have huge mountains, but it has rivers and canals that are like watery highways for boats.
How Enschede Got So Big!
Once upon a time, Enschede was just a small town. But then, around the 1860s, something amazing happened! They started building train tracks and digging a big canal called the Twentekanaal.
This made it super easy to bring things in and out, and the city started to grow really, really fast, like a balloon being blown up! It grew so much that it even took over the land of a smaller town called Lonneker.

Enschede is home to a famous soccer team called FC Twente, where players kick a ball around and try to score goals!
