Diego Maradona

Diego Maradona was a super-talented soccer player from Argentina. People called him 'The Golden Boy' because he was so amazing at the game! He was small but super fast, and he could dribble the ball like magic, weaving past other players.

He played in the special number 10 position, which is like the captain of the team's offense. He was so good that many people think he was one of the best soccer players ever!

Diego started playing soccer when he was very young and was a natural! He played for many different teams in different countries, like in Spain and Italy. One of his most famous teams was Napoli in Italy.

He helped them win big games and their first-ever championship, which was super exciting for the fans! He also played for his country, Argentina, in the World Cup, which is like the biggest soccer tournament in the world.

In one very important game in 1986, Diego scored two famous goals against England. The first one was a bit cheeky – he used his hand to push the ball into the net! He called it the 'Hand of God' goal. The second goal was pure magic! He dribbled the ball all the way from his own side of the field, past five other players, and scored. It was so amazing it was called the 'Goal of the Century'!

After he stopped playing soccer, Diego became a coach and helped train other soccer teams, including his own country's national team! He was a leader on and off the field.
