Key Facts
Meet the People of Iran!
Iran is a big country with lots and lots of people! It's like a giant playground with millions of kids and grown-ups. Right now, there are about 91.5 million people living there.
That's more people than you can count on all your fingers and toes, even if you counted for a whole day! Most of these people are younger than you might think, with about half of them being under 35 years old. That means there are lots of kids and young people in Iran!
How Many People Live There?
Think about how many kids are in your whole school. Now imagine that many, many times over! In 2016, there were about 80 million people.
That's like filling up 80 million school buses! But guess what? The number of babies being born has slowed down a bit, like when a race car starts to go slower.
Scientists think that by the time you might be a grown-up, around the year 2050, there will be even more people, maybe over 100 million!
Families and Homes
People in Iran live in families, just like you! A family in Iran might have about 4 or 5 people living together in one home. Imagine your family plus one or two more people living in your house!
These families work and play, and they earn money to buy food and toys. It's interesting to know that many families in Iran are learning to read and write. Lots of people, about 85 out of every 100, can read and write, which is super important for learning new things!
Growing Up in Iran
The average age of someone in Iran is about 32 years old. That's like the age of a grown-up who might be your teacher or your parent's friend. It's cool to think about how many different ages of people live there, from tiny babies to wise older folks.
Knowing about the people in a country helps us understand how they live, what they do, and how their country is growing and changing, just like you are growing and changing every day!
