That's even before your parents were born! They have five amazing musicians: Joe Elliott sings the loud, clear songs, Rick Savage plays the deep bass notes, Rick Allen is a super drummer, and Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell play awesome guitar solos that sound like lightning bolts!

Def Leppard made their first album when they were just starting out. It was called 'On Through the Night'. Then, they made another album called 'High 'n' Dry' which had a song that was one of the first music videos ever shown on TV!

Their album 'Pyromania' was so popular it sold enough copies to be called 'Diamond'! That's like having a million shiny diamonds! Their album 'Hysteria' was even bigger, selling more than 15 million copies.

That's more than the number of kids in many big countries!

Def Leppard's music is like a super-powered rollercoaster for your ears. It's loud and exciting, but it also has catchy tunes that get stuck in your head. They were part of a music style called 'heavy metal' but they made it sound more melodic, like a really fun song you can sing along to. Two of their albums, 'Pyromania' and 'Hysteria', have sold so many copies in America that they are called 'Diamond' albums. They were even put into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which is like a special museum for the most famous musicians ever. They are truly rock legends!
