Court of the Myrtles

Imagine a beautiful courtyard, like a secret garden, right in the middle of a giant castle called the Alhambra in Spain. This is the Court of the Myrtles! It's a super special place where sultans, who were like kings, used to relax and think.

This courtyard wasn't built all at once. It started a long, long time ago, around 700 years ago, by a sultan named Isma'il I. Later, other sultans, Yusuf I and Muhammad V, made it even more amazing. Think of it like adding new rooms to your house or decorating it for a special party. They wanted it to be the most beautiful and important part of their palace, a place fit for royalty.
