Constantine V

Imagine a king who was also a super-soldier! That was Constantine V. He ruled a big empire called the Byzantine Empire a long, long time ago, from 741 to 775.

He was really good at fighting and making sure his people were safe from enemies. He was like the ultimate protector of his kingdom, always thinking about how to keep everyone secure and happy. He was a busy emperor with a very important job!

Constantine V was a fantastic leader in battles. He was so good that he helped make his empire stronger. He fought against people called Bulgars in a place called the Balkans.

Even though Constantine V was a strong emperor, some people didn't like him very much. They gave him some really funny nicknames because of things they thought happened when he was a baby! One nickname meant 'Dung-Named' because they said he pooped during his own special naming ceremony.

Another meant 'Anointed with Urine'. These nicknames are silly, but they show that even powerful leaders can have people who disagree with them.
