Meet the Movie Makers!

Columbia Pictures is like a giant toy box for stories! It's a famous movie studio that makes and shares movies for everyone to enjoy. Think of it as a place where ideas turn into exciting adventures, funny jokes, and heartwarming tales.

They are one of the biggest movie makers in the world, and they've been doing it for a super long time, creating movies that have made millions of people laugh and cheer!

From a Small Idea to a Big Studio!

Long, long ago, in 1918, three friends named Jack Cohn, Harry Cohn, and Joe Brandt started a small company to make movies. It was called CBC Film Sales Corporation. They worked hard, and in 1924, they changed the name to Columbia Pictures.

Imagine a tiny seed growing into a huge tree! That's kind of what happened. They even started using a picture of a lady holding a torch as their logo, which is still famous today!

Superstars and Silly Fun!

Columbia Pictures became super popular because they made lots of funny movies, especially with a group called The Three Stooges! They also had amazing actors and actresses who became big stars, like Rita Hayworth, who was like a dazzling diamond on screen. They even helped share some of the very first Mickey Mouse cartoons and Silly Symphonies with the world.

It was a place where comedy and drama shone brightly!

Movies You Love Today!

Guess what? Columbia Pictures is still making awesome movies! They are part of a bigger company called Sony Pictures.

You might know some of their super popular movies like Spider-Man, Jumanji, and Ghostbusters! Their biggest hit ever is a Spider-Man movie that made almost two billion dollars – that’s a LOT of money! They continue to create magical stories that fill movie theaters with excitement.
