Cliff

Cliffs are like super-tall, steep walls made of rock or earth. They can be found all over the world, near oceans, rivers, or even in mountains! Some cliffs are so tall, they're higher than a playground slide, and others are as tall as a skyscraper! They are made by nature over a very, very long time, sometimes by rivers or waves crashing against the land, or by big cracks in the Earth.

Even though cliffs look bare, many animals call them home! Birds like eagles and falcons build their nests on high ledges where it's safe from animals on the ground. Some small animals, like mountain goats, are super good at climbing and can walk on narrow paths on the cliff face. It’s like a giant, rocky apartment building for nature’s bravest climbers and flyers!

Cliffs are important because they protect the land from strong waves and wind. They also give us amazing views! People love to hike near cliffs to see the beautiful scenery. Sometimes, people even climb cliffs, which is called rock climbing, but it’s very tricky and needs special gear and training. It’s like a giant natural staircase for the adventurous!
