Château de Chenonceau

Have you ever seen a castle? Well, Château de Chenonceau is super special because it's built right over a river called the Cher! It looks like it's floating on the water.

This beautiful castle is one of the most famous in a whole region of France called the Loire Valley. It's like a magical kingdom waiting for you to explore its secrets and imagine all the royal parties that happened there long ago.

This amazing castle wasn't always here. The land was first written about a super long time ago, way back in the 11th century! The castle you see today started being built in 1514, which is over 500 years ago.

It was built on top of an old mill, which is a building that used to grind grain. Later, they added a cool bridge and a long gallery that goes all the way across the river, making it look even more grand and impressive.

Château de Chenonceau is famous because it's so unique with its river setting. It's a perfect example of French castles from a time called the Renaissance, when art and building were super fancy. The most amazing part of Château de Chenonceau is how it's built over the river. Imagine building a house on a bridge! The first bridge was built between 1556 and 1559, and then a long gallery was added on top of that bridge from 1570 to 1576. This made the castle even longer and more spectacular, stretching across the water like a graceful swan.
