The Chief Justice of Pakistan is like the captain of a super important team called the Supreme Court. A long, long time ago, in 1948, Pakistan's top court was called the Federal Court. The judges were called 'Federal Judges.' For a while, this court even worked out of a part of another building! But when Pakistan got its first constitution in 1956, the court got a new name: the Supreme Court of Pakistan. And the top judge became known as the Chief Justice of Pakistan, just like today!

The Chief Justice is super important because they help make sure everyone in Pakistan is treated fairly. They lead the Supreme Court, which is the final stop for big legal questions. The Chief Justice also has a special job: they get to give the oath of office to the President of Pakistan, which is like saying 'you're officially in charge now!'
