Beijing National Stadium

This amazing stadium is in Beijing, China, a super big city! It's part of a special place called Olympic Green. Beijing is the capital city, which means it's the most important city in China. The weather there can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter, just like some places you might know!

The Bird's Nest wasn't always there. Construction started a long, long time ago, in 2003, and it was finished in 2008. That's when it got to show off for the Summer Olympics! It was like a brand new toy for the whole world to see and use for exciting sports.

This stadium is HUGE! It can hold 80,000 people, which is more than all the students in your whole school district put together! It's shaped like a bird's nest with lots of crisscrossing metal beams. It looks like a giant, cozy home for sports fans watching amazing athletes compete.

The Bird's Nest is super special because it hosted the Summer Olympics in 2008. But guess what? It was also used for the Winter Olympics in 2022! That means it's been a star for both warm-weather and cold-weather games. It's a true champion stadium!
