Meet the King of the Jungle (Almost!)

Imagine a super-sized cat with a fluffy mane! That's an Asian lion. Unlike their cousins in Africa, these lions live in a special forest called Gir Forest. They are a bit smaller than African lions and their manes are not as big and bushy. But they are still super strong and amazing animals!

A Lion's Favorite Snacks

Asian lions are carnivores, which means they love to eat meat! Their favorite meals are deer and wild pigs. They are very clever hunters and work together to catch their food. Sometimes, they even eat birds or lizards if they get a chance. They need to eat a lot to keep their big bodies strong.

Where Do They Sleep and Play?

These lions live in a place called Gujarat, in India. It's the only spot in the whole world where wild Asian lions can be found! They like to rest in the shade of trees during the hot day and become more active when it's cooler. They live in small family groups, not huge prides like African lions.

Why We Need to Help Them!

Sadly, there aren't many Asian lions left. They are endangered, which means they need our help to survive. People are working hard to protect their forest home and make sure they have enough food and safety. It's important to keep these beautiful lions safe for everyone to admire.
