Aryabhata

Imagine a brilliant person from a long, long time ago, around the year 476! That's when Aryabhata was born in India. He was like a superhero of math and stars. He wrote down his amazing ideas in special books. One book was called Āryabhaṭīya. He was so smart that people still learn from his discoveries today!

Aryabhata loved to think about how things move. He realized that when you're on a moving boat, it feels like the shore is moving, not you! This was a super big idea. He also studied the stars and planets, trying to understand their paths across the sky. He was like a detective for the universe, solving its mysteries with his brain.

Aryabhata was a whiz with numbers. He used math to figure out how long it takes for planets to go around the sun and how long it takes for the moon to go around the Earth. He even helped people understand how to measure time better. His math skills were so good, they helped people understand the world around them.

Even though Aryabhata lived over 1500 years ago, his ideas are still important. He helped us understand numbers and the sky better. He was one of the first people to think about how motion works in a very clever way. Because of thinkers like him, we have amazing science and math today!
