The Secret House of Horrors!

In a normal-looking house in Cleveland, Ohio, a very sad and scary thing happened. From 2002 to 2004, a man named Ariel Castro took three young women, Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry, and Gina de Jesús, right off the street. He kept them hidden inside his house for a super long time, almost 10 years! It was like a secret prison that no one knew about.

A Daring Escape!

One day in 2013, Amanda Berry found a way to be brave and escape! She even had a little daughter who was born while she was trapped. Amanda ran to a neighbor and called the police. The police came and rescued Michelle and Gina too. Ariel Castro was caught right after.

What Happened Next?

Ariel Castro was put in jail for a very, very long time. He had to go to prison for life, plus 1,000 more years! That's more years than you can even imagine. Sadly, he didn't stay in prison for long. After only one month, he died in his cell.
