Air India Express Flight 1344

Imagine a big airplane flying from a super sunny city called Dubai all the way to a place in India called Kozhikode. This flight was like a special mission to bring people home because of something called the COVID-19 pandemic. The pilots were trying their best to land the plane safely, but the weather was making it super tricky!

Landing a giant airplane is like parking a super-sized car! But this day, the wind was blowing really hard, and it was raining buckets. The pilots tried to land, but it was too windy, so they had to try again. On the third try, the plane touched down, but it was like sliding down a slippery hill!

The runway where the plane landed was special. It was called a 'tabletop runway,' which means it was flat on top but dropped off steeply on the sides, like a table with no legs on one side! The plane went off the end of this runway and slid down a slope that was as tall as a two-story house. Wow!

Even though it was a scary moment, many people were very brave. The cabin crew, who are like the helpers on the plane, and most of the passengers were okay. Sadly, some people and the two pilots were hurt or lost. But many people survived thanks to the quick actions of rescuers.
