Imagine a super-important leader who is like a guide for a big family! That's kind of what the Aga Khan is. He's the spiritual leader for about 12 to 15 million people around the world who follow a special part of Islam called Nizari Ismaili Shia.

He helps them with their faith and also with important things like building schools and hospitals. It's a job that's passed down from father to son, like a special family tradition!

The name 'Aga Khan' means 'Great Leader' or 'Grand Commander.' This special title has been in the same family for over 150 years! People believe that each Aga Khan is a descendant of a very important person from long ago named Prophet Muhammad. This means the leader is like a link to a long, long history. The current Aga Khan is the 50th leader in this amazing line!

The Aga Khan does so much more than just lead prayers. He's like a superhero for his community! He helps make sure kids can go to school, people can get good healthcare, and that their culture stays strong. He also helps with building things and making sure everyone has what they need. It's like having a leader who is also a teacher, a doctor, and a builder all rolled into one!

Just recently, a new Aga Khan took over. His name is Prince Shah Rahim al-Hussaini. He became the leader on February 4, 2025, after his father, who was the leader for almost 68 years, passed away. This is a very important moment for the Ismaili people. The new leader is now called 'His Highness,' which is a very respectful title given to him by King Charles III.
