Abiy Ahmed

Abiy Ahmed is a very important person in Ethiopia, a country in Africa. He became the Prime Minister, which is like the main leader, in 2018. Imagine being the captain of your whole country! Before that, he was a soldier and worked in the government. He's known for trying to make peace and for making big changes in his country.

When Abiy was a teenager, he joined people fighting against a bad leader. After that fight was over, he became a soldier in the army. He even worked as a radio operator during a war! Later, he moved into government jobs and became a member of parliament. Then, he was chosen to be the Prime Minister, leading Ethiopia into a new time.

Guess what? Abiy Ahmed won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2019! This is a super special award given to people who work hard to make peace between countries. He won it because he helped stop a big fight between Ethiopia and its neighbor, Eritrea. He also wanted to make Ethiopia's economy stronger, like making sure businesses can grow.

As Prime Minister, Abiy started making lots of changes. He let many people who were in jail for their ideas go free. He also wanted to make Ethiopia's businesses better, like its famous airline. He even created a new political party called the Prosperity Party. He's a leader who has tried to bring big changes to Ethiopia.
