2025 shootings of Minnesota legislators

Imagine a day when important people who make rules for a whole state are suddenly in danger. On June 14, 2025, something very sad and scary happened in Minnesota. A kind leader named Melissa Hortman, who was like a captain for a team of lawmakers, was hurt very badly at her home.

Her husband was also hurt. Even more sadly, she didn't survive. Another leader, John Hoffman, and his wife were also shot and hurt that same morning.
