2025 Philippine House of Representatives elections

Every few years, people in the Philippines get to vote for special people called representatives. These representatives are like the voices of their towns and cities in a big meeting place called the House of Representatives. In 2025, it was time for a big election to pick who would get to sit in those important seats! It's like choosing the captains for different teams in a giant game.

There are so many seats to fill in the House of Representatives, 318 to be exact! Think of it like a super-sized classroom with 318 desks. Some representatives are chosen from specific neighborhoods, like picking a class president for each grade.

Others are chosen from big groups called party-lists, where people who agree on certain ideas band together. It's a way to make sure lots of different voices can be heard!

One big team called Lakas–CMD was super popular and won a lot of seats, more than any other team! This means they will have a lot of say in what happens. Another group, Akbayan, got the most votes for the party-list teams. They even won the maximum number of seats they are allowed, which is three. It shows that when people vote, they can really make a difference in who leads!

There's also a special job called the Speaker of the House. This person is like the main leader of all the representatives. In 2025, a person named Martin Romualdez was already doing a great job and everyone agreed he should keep being the Speaker.

He didn't even have anyone running against him because he was so well-liked! It's like being voted the best playground monitor without anyone else wanting the job.
