Key Facts
Welcome to the Darts Party!
Imagine a huge party with lots of people throwing tiny arrows called darts at a big round board. That's the PDC World Darts Championship! It happened in London, England, at a cool place called Alexandra Palace. This was the 32nd time this special event was held, and the 18th time at Alexandra Palace. The winner gets a super big prize of £500,000, which is a lot of money!
Who's Throwing the Darts?
There were 96 players, like a whole school class, trying to win! Some players were super good and got to start later in the game. Last year's winner was Luke Humphries, but he didn't win this time. A young player named Luke Littler, who is only 17, made it all the way to the final for the second year in a row. He even set a record for the best average score in one set!
Amazing Darts Tricks!
The best part is when players hit a 'nine-dart finish'. This means they hit all the right spots on the board using only nine darts! It's like hitting a bullseye every single time. Two players, Christian Kist and Damon Heta, did this amazing trick! They each got a big bonus of £60,000 for their incredible skills. It’s super hard to do!
The Youngest Champion Ever!
Guess what? Luke Littler won the whole thing! He became the youngest ever world champion in darts history. He was only 17 years and 347 days old. That's younger than most people in high school! He also won a special trophy for hitting the most 180s, which are the highest scoring darts, a total of 76 times. Wow!
