The Great Indian Election Adventure!

In India, there's a President who is like the head coach, and a Vice President who is like the super-assistant coach! The Vice President helps the President and can even step in if the President is away. This election was to pick a new Vice President because the old one had to leave early. It's like when a star player has to take a break, and the team needs a new one fast!

Usually, the Vice President stays for five whole years, like finishing all your grades in school! But this time, something unexpected happened, and a new election had to happen much sooner. This is super rare, like finding a hidden treasure! It's the first time this has happened for this job in a very, very long time, since way back in 1987!

After everyone voted, a special person named Pramod Chandra Mody announced the winner. The person who won was C. P. Radhakrishnan! He got lots of votes, but it was a really close race. He won by just 152 votes, which is like winning a race by only a few steps. This was the closest election for this job in many years!

Choosing a Vice President is important because they help run the country. They make sure everything is fair and that the rules are followed.
