2024 Indian general election

India is a super big country in Asia, like a giant colorful puzzle piece on the map! It has tall mountains, long rivers, and sunny beaches. The elections happened all over this huge land, from snowy peaks to warm coasts. It's a place with so many different kinds of nature, from deserts to jungles. The people who live there are called Indians.

In 2024, India had a massive election to pick who would lead the country. It was like a school election, but for grown-ups and for the whole country! Over 968 million people were allowed to vote, which is more people than you can count on your fingers and toes, even if you counted all day! The voting took a long, long time, almost like a whole school semester!

So many people voted, it was the biggest election ever! More than 642 million people showed up to choose their leaders. What's really cool is that the most women ever voted this time! Everyone who is old enough gets to pick who they think will do the best job running the country. It's like everyone gets a say in how things work.

After everyone voted, the votes were counted to see who won. The person who gets the most votes becomes the Prime Minister, like the captain of the country's team. Narendra Modi got to be Prime Minister for a third time! He leads a team of other elected people called MPs who help make decisions.
